The DXS18mk3 represents Yamaha's latest evolution in powered subwoofer design, built to anchor full-range sound systems with substantial low-end authority. This 18-inch model combines a proprietary high-durability driver with a Class-D amplifier and optimised bandpass enclosure to deliver extended bass clarity without cabinet resonance. Paired with DXR mk3 series mains, it forms a cohesive platform capable of reinforcing everything from live venues to recording monitoring setups.

The specification sheet tells the story: an 18-inch cone with 4-inch voice coil drives the system, whilst the newly developed 2500W Class-D amplifier offers substantial headroom. Maximum output reaches 134 dB SPL, with the built-in D-XSub processing extending frequency response down to 32 Hz for true sub-bass extension. DSP-controlled crossover settings deliver flexibility across application, whilst cardioid mode narrows the bass pickup pattern for controlled stage deployment. Plywood construction is acoustically optimised, and dual M20 and Ø35 mm pole sockets accommodate standard rigging hardware.

On stage or in the studio, the cardioid mode proves particularly valuable for isolating low-end in tight spaces, whilst the extensible frequency response caters to producers tracking full-spectrum content.
