Both 300gsm and 365gsm cotton velvet fabrics are treated with fire retardant, which means they burn more slowly than regular fabrics, reducing the spread of fire. Cotton velvet curtains that are 300 and 365gsm comply to Building Code Australia (BCA), AS1530 Part 2 and 3, and have been tested by the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA).

The lighter duty 200gsm velveteen and satin drapes are the most cost effective and suitable for non-permanent applications, including wedding decorations and stage backdrops — best paired with our drape support systems and pipe & drape accessories for a complete freestanding setup, and support components for larger multi-panel backdrops.
